Profondo is the Music Network's mentoring programme for music students who have just graduated and are taking their first steps into the professional world of music.
Whether you're aiming to perform, compose, conduct, direct, teach or eventually do some further study, the Profondo programme will equip you for the unique opportunities and challenges that come with being a Christian working in the world of music. Mentoring takes place in a small group setting once every three weeks from October to June (15 sessions in total), along with occasional Zoom meetings. The meetings include bible study, teaching on a range of topics, training in a variety of skills, and performance/presentation from each participant with a chance for critical appraisal.
It's so great to see how Jesus, the gospel and our faith connect to anything, but it's particularly exciting and also important when it's the stuff we're dealing with every day. Profondo is a great opportunity to do this with music. It really helps ground all sorts of areas of being a musician really specifically to God. It deepened my love both of God and of music, and has helped me feel more equipped to be a blessing to all sorts of people in the music world.
What's more, the whole programme costs just £200.
Applications for 2024-25 are now open to students graduating in 2024. This year we hope to accept a maximum of 6 graduates onto the programme.
To apply, please send 100-250 words on how you’d hope to benefit from Profondo to music@uccf.org.uk by 1st July 2024. In addition, please state your university or music college, your degree subject, your instrument or main area of study, your main genre, and your current plans for after graduation, including the city where you'll be based.
Places on the programme will be offered towards the end of July when dates for the year are finalised.
